The Rotary Club of Burnley is made up from a collection of local business owners or professionals.  Some are budding young entrepreneurs, others are retired professionals, age and experience is irrelevant however as everyone works together to raise money for local and global projects.

Our club is part of a global network of Rotary clubs, operating in 168 countries.  There are 1.2 million Rotarians throughout the world, and we all share the same goals, to serve the community locally, nationally and globally, while promoting the highest ethical standards.

In joining a club like ours, you will become part of the worldwide Rotary fellowship, working towards peace and goodwill, and we all share the same motto:

“Service above Self.”

This motto says all you need to know about the significance of what Rotary means today. No single person could achieve a fraction of the good that collectively Rotarians can achieve now and in the future. At times of great need, Rotarians have the reputation of being the first in and the last out.

Whether it is floods in Cumbria or Pakistan, tsunamis, famine, earthquake or deseases, whatever the situation, be it disability or tackling illiteracy or clearing up the town park, there will be a team of Rotarians involved, trying to make a difference.
